Better shave than expected
I first received a Schick Hydro 5 as a wedding gift a few years ago.
The experience I had with it was quite annoying and not worth my time. My major mistake when using it was that I’d used shaving foam along with it. The result being that the gel from the reservoir being excessively activated and leaving me with a sticky, slimy face and a cartridge which only lasted about three shaves.
This time around though I’d noticed a much greaterresult by just wetting my face a bit and using the shaver with the vibration function. This provided for a surprisingly comfortable and smooth shave. The “precision” mode however leaves quite a bit to be desired, having quite a space between the top of the razor and the first blade means that you may end up shaving off more than intended.

Almost Excellent Shave
I received the chick Hydro 5 Power Select to test and review. I’ve used the razor twice, letting my stubble grow a little more once to test the differences. The razor worked better with the shorter stubble, although both times it gave a smooth and close shave, although the size of the blade cartridge makes it a little more difficult to navigate under the nose on across the chin than narrower blade cartridges. The grip is comfortable, and the vibration feature makes it a little more comfortable – making it a nice, but not an essential add-on. The water-activated gel did leave my skin feeling smooth; there was no irritation. Although I would happily use the razor itself and think the unit is well priced, the blades are too expensive to make them viable to replace as often as they might need to be.

Great Shave!
I received the Schick Hydro 5 Power Select to test and review. Upon my first use of it, my beard was abit long causing the facaial hair texture to feel thicker as well (that’s what results in the hair getting caught in the blades). My solution to this problem was to use my hair removal machine to shorten my beard down so that I can get the best results out of my shave with the Schick hydro.
My plan worked perfectly, I had a close pain free shave which left my skin feeling smooth and non-irritated.
The refill pack of blades is quite steep. But I guess you’ve got to dig abit deep into your pocket for good quality! I’ll definitely be sticking with Schick Hydro 5 Power Select!

Review of Schick Hydro 5 Power Select
I received the Schick Hydro 5 Power Select razor and gave it a try. My facial hair is thick and with too much stubble it struggled to shave smoothly and the blades would get clogged up. This was less of an issue by shaving more frequently, but this had the downside of wearing out the blades much quicker. The vibration feature provided no noticeable improvement even on the maximum setting. The vibration power is far too low and is not concentrated at the shaving head. Plus points; no rash and comfortable grip handle. On the downside: The price of the replacement blades could be better.

GREAT SHAVE
It really shave’s well. I was surprised at how well it works and does’t cause a rash. I change razors a lot because re-using causes a rash and because I never have time to properly groom and shave. I was really impressed with Schick I’ve use the same razor 3 times now and still is no rash. It’s a really good razor!!

Awesome Shave
I must admit, i was skeptical as to whether the shave would compare to my last razor, but it blew me away. The nclosness of the shave and the lack of shaving rash shows that the designers have paid attention to the smaller design requirements that make the biggest differences. Well done Schick!
