Andrew Murphy is Manbox Man Crush Monday

Andrew Murphy, the blogger behind Murphy Diaries. Andrew is a fashion and lifestyle blogger and is working really hard on changing the men’s fashion game.
He’s growing his community by posting regular content to my blog and other social media outlets on everything that stays true to his brand and everything he stands for. A unique experience is guaranteed every time you step onto any of his platforms.
About 2 months back Andrew landed a gig where he got to write a small piece for GQ South Africa online talking about all things gender fluid in fashion.

How do you introduce yourself?

I always introduce myself as a fashion enthusiast that wants to be a game-changer. Don’t expect  standard ‘man in a suit’ look from me.

What inspired you to become a fashion and lifestyle blogger?

I’m really drawn to how people can express themselves through their style and the ever-changing fashions. I feel that a lot of people don’t realise how expressive and equally liberating looking good can make one feel good.

What makes you stand out from the rest?

I’m always trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and that translates in the content that I push out. I want people to get comfortable with the idea that feeling uncomfortable is good.

What wakes up every morning besides your alarm?

The fact that I get to throw on some good threads, feel great and inspire people, even if its just one person. I know it sounds simple but I’m passionate about fashion.

What’s your winning formula?

My winning formula is a positive mindset. With social media we’re so glued to other people’s lives we forget that we’re living our own. Its so easy to get caught up in believing that someone else’s life looks amazing (from what we see on Instagram) that we forget to be happy with our own little victories.

What’s next for you? 

Next for me is collaborating with amazing brands and other content creators. I love feeding off other people’s energy and ideas. I think its important that in this industry we support and encourage each other.

What’s your routine to stay looking fresh?

– A clean-shaved face
– A good face scrub from The Body Shop
– Neatly shaped eyebrows
– A good cologne
– And a fresh haircut

What’s your number ONE grooming product?

At the moment my number one grooming product will have to be the whole kit for my face which consists of:
– face wash, youth drops and moisturiser from The Body Shop
– a good shaving cream and razor
– BB cream from The Body Sho

Is there such thing as a perfect guy?

I think we could try our best to be as perfect as possible but there’s no such thing as a perfect guy. However, if you find the right products that make us look good we could at least feel like the perfect guy.

If we had to put you in BOX – what would you remain as besides a blogger?

Just a humble boy, very aware of his roots. Staying true to his morals, values and beliefs but still strong-willed and a big dreamer.

Grand, grand, what do you think is Manbox?

I think ManBox is the perfect platform for a community of people who enjoy grooming to share their thoughts and advice on products. Its a cool way to try and test new items on the market.
