Daluxolo Jalmeni Is Manbox Man Crush Monday

Daluxolo Jalmeni is a radio personality, speaker and youth influencer. Jalmeni is the personification of Nelson Mandela’s famous saying ‘the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow’. The 23 -year-old, Eastern Cape born-and-bred personality blew onto the media scene in 2017 after being discovered by his now mentor, DJ Sbu, on social media.

With his mantra ‘getting ahead is getting started’ as his guide, the tenacious youngster spent months of consistently engaging the ‘The Art of Hustling’ Author with his content until he couldn’t be forgotten. DJ Sbu then gave the ambitious Dali an opportunity on hybrid radio station Massiv Metro, which saw the birth of Youth Edutainment show #Woke – his and co-host Sonia The Future’s brainchild.

Through the show’s reach and influence, the pair were able to assist 23 graduates to find jobs after the tertiary studies – a feat that Dali is exceptionally proud of. While that was fulfilling for him, he also capitalised on the space he was in and the celebrities he was in contact with by creating a celeb motivation series called #TheChaseWithDali.rad

How do you introduce yourself?

I am a radio personality, public speaker, entrepreneur, creative. I am a dream chaser, I am called to be a vessel and change people’s lives while chasing my dreams.

What do you think makes you a “Better Man”? 

I am well mannered, respectful, considerate, I am a person of value and I take care of myself and I respect myself. What makes me a better man is my desire to change the world, a heart at a time through my gifts, talents and abilities. I am a man of great character, selfless and ambitious.

Why a career in radio?

Radio is my first love. I knew I wanted to be on the radio since I was 15 years old. Radio is such a powerful platform where you communicate with millions of people. I love radio because I get to be a great vessel in impacting and changing people’s lives on a daily basis. I use the platform to help where I can, and furthermore, entertain them.

 How’s your grooming routine? 

My grooming routine is literally a facial, manicure and haircut every two weeks. I have a daily facial routine for my skin and every now and then, I go for a body exfoliation followed by juicing for a detox.

 What’s your winning formula? 

My winning formula is understanding that to get ahead you need to get started, I also have a very good teachable spirit. I love learning new things and being surrounded by people way smarter than me. I am a go-getter at heart and I just love chasing my dreams, falling in love with the process and wanting to be a better human every day.

What’s next for you?

National speaking tour, TV gig, moving to one of the best youth radio stations in Jozi. Travelling abroad and speaking at events. Suit fashion line and eventually write and publish a book.

Do you think any dude with a “great idea” can be an entrepreneur?

I think having a great idea doesn’t necessarily make you an entrepreneur. It takes a lot to be an entrepreneur, running a functional business that makes money, going through entrepreneurial dynamics. Entrepreneurship is no child’s play – it requires more than just having a great idea.

 What’s your number ONE grooming product? 

My number one grooming product has to be an exfoliator face mask/wash. I love a good looking skin.
