Marcel Makadu is a 23 year old DJ, Model and Trend Researcher for BAT. Marcel is originally from Kimberley Northern Cape but now lives in Cape Town. He studied at the Inscape College of Design and SAE Music Production School.

How do you introduce yourself?

I’m Marcel Makadu, a CREATIVE.

Where do you get the time to model, DJ and be a Trend Researcher?

Well most of my gigs are over the weekend anywhere from Thursday to Sunday and my trend research events are usually once a week which makes it easier to prioritize.

What makes you stand out as a DJ?

I think as a club DJ the most important part of your job is refreshing your playlist, which is something I do very well. Most club DJ’s tend to mix the same music, the same way.

What wakes up every morning besides your alarm?

Financial freedom

What’s your winning formula?

I believe in a healthy routine of everything, no matter how little you invest in any field, health, wealth or spirit, a routine guarantees progress.

What’s next for you?

I’m about to release my first EP, I’ve taken the time to invest into it, worked with many artists and I developed a healthy sense of not only what I like but also what the world or my market likes and I hope and pray that it’ll be received well.

What’s your routine to stay looking fresh?

Gym, gym, and more gym. My diet isn’t the best sometimes but I always make sure to work out harder than my short comings. Hiking and soccer included.

What’s your number ONE grooming product?

It’ll definitely have to be my skin moisturizer, smooth and even tone skin goes a long way in my career.

Is there such thing as a perfect guy?

Of course 🙂 you have to choose to be perfect in your own way. It isn’t for others to decide.

If we had to put you in BOX – what would you remain as besides an artist?

I’m not sure if this is in general or career wise but I also work as a draftsman and in general, my love for my family and homeless people (especially kids) will always speak volumes.

Grand, grand, what do you think is Manbox?

 To my understanding Manbox is a platform that sells a variety of male grooming products. It is also a company driven by the improvement of men.
