Easily Remove Smoke Smell From Your Car
Gents, many of us have been in this situation where no matter how hard we try, we just can’t remove the smoke smell from cigarettes from our cars. Especially if the cars have been exposed to smoke for many years.
Whether you used to smoke, or you bought a used car that smells like smoke, the smell of cigarette smoke can drive one insane!
We’re going to show you the different ways you can effectively get rid of the smoke smell from your car.
First, make sure that you clean your car in a well-ventilated area so that your car can breathe and take out the smell of the smoke.
You can then clean the interior of your car by removing any trash and vacuuming every nook and cranny of your seat covers, floor and mats. Make sure that you take the floor mats out to air out and for some sun time.
Here are some home remedies you can use to remove the cigarette smell from your car:
White Vinegar
Simply pour vinegar into a cup or bowl and leave it overnight in your car.
Baking Soda
Baking Soda works wonders for absorbing odours and drawing out excess moisture from the air.
Simply sprinkle some baking soda on the carpet and floor mat and vacuum it off after 24 hours. If the smell isn’t gone after a day, repeat the process.
Charcoal
Lay out a bowl of charcoal in your car for a couple of days to absorb the cigarette odour. This method eliminates smoke smell rather than masking it.
If the smell isn’t gone, dump the old charcoal and replace it with a new batch. Using many smaller containers is better than one large container because it increases the surface area used to absorb lingering odours. You can also replace the charcoal as needed without wasting a bunch of unused charcoal.
Coffee Beans
Don’t throw your coffee grounds away after you brew your cup of coffee. They have many alternative uses. In this case, you can use them to remove bad odours like smoke smell.
Coffee grounds, like baking soda and charcoal, can absorb odours. The strong smell of coffee also helps overpower any lingering smells. If you don’t want your car to smell like coffee, then go with baking soda, which has no odour.
The Cat Litter
Last but not least on our home remedies list is using cat litter to absorb cigarette smoke odour. Simply leave a bowl of cat litter in your car for a couple of days and let the cat litter do its magic.
