How to create an effective plan for the new year? It’s easy to jot down a list of the things you want. Everyone can cut pictures from magazines and create an eye-catching vision board. It all boils down to rolling the sleeves and do the work. Nothing ticks itself off from the list without you executing it.
It’s still the first month of 2020. Do you know your priorities and goals? It’s important to give yourself a starting point to at least start the year on the right foot. Sometimes, we find ourselves knocking doors that aren’t meant for us. Proper planning will help you stay in your lane and focus on your mission.
This is the process I use to make a plan for the new year.
Announce Your BIG moves
Do you have an audacious goal(s) for 2020? Sharing it to your mentor or your closest friends is the best first step. It helps to have people who will take no excuses from you. In most cases, it depends on your tribe to achieve your goals.
Deadlines
It’s all good to have a clear vision and contacts that will help you get to the top. However, those goals are mere “wishes” if you don’t have deadlines to complete them. Without deadlines for your goals, it’s easy to keep postponing them. Remember it’s not set it a stone! So be also kind to yourself.
Progress Report
If your goal is to have half a million in your bank account by the 20th of December – perhaps you should design a progress report. It will help you strategise properly and get the results that you desire. Imagine finding out later in the year that you’re not even close to completing your goals.
Tell us, what’s your main goal for 2020?
