Why All Nice Guys Finish Last?

Being a nice guy is super cute. Unfortunately, that will keep you in the friend-zone forever. Is that a bad thing? Uhm, most guys perceive “friend-zone” as the worst position you can settle for as a dude, especially if you have feelings for her. Seriously, if your bestie is looking for a “perfect” guy like you but not you – what’s that supposed to mean? Perhaps it means you’re not good enough or she doesn’t want to ruin what you guys have built.

Even in movies, it’s always the obnoxious dude gets what he wants. It’s as if the universe deliberately ignores the ‘nice guy’ and quickly grants the douchebag whatever he desires. This isn’t an article to give you step-by-step guidance on how to be a bad guy. Maybe I should ask this question? How long are you willing to wait to get WHAT YOU DESERVE?

There’s absolutely nothing wrong in helping the blind woman to cross the street. It’s good manners to help carry an elderly’s bag. Being nice does not necessarily mean that you’ll sacrifice yourself for the sake of being nice. Or even worse, making yourself small for the other person to feel good about themselves.

I must say, we need more nice people in the world. Perhaps we can replace the word ‘nice’ with a better one like “kind”. Of course, being kind doesn’t mean you’ll say YES to everything but you’ll politely exercise you NO as well. Do you want to finish last? Try being kind instead of being too nice.
