Bro, can you believe it’s Day-7 of lockdown?!
In today’s installment of ‘How to Thrive in a 21-Day Lockdown, and Emerge and Better Man’ we’re talking about what our lives will look like after the lockdown.
I bet you’ve wondered how things might be when all this is over. Bro, it’s a valid concern.
But fear not!
Seriously bro, nothing good comes from fear…
(…if you missed our recent article about negative thoughts, and how they are killing you, click here)
The good fellas at Manbox have seen the future, and it is bright and beautiful! Here is the short-short version of the heavenly glory that you can expect on the other side of ‘The Big 2020 Lockdown’:
#1 The hugs will be healing
Even if you’re not a hugger (I’m sure you’re craving for one) you’ll appreciate it after this crisis.
COVID-19 has made us realise the power of a human touch or a healing hug.
You can be sure, that when we emerge (as better men!) on the other side of this, the hugs will have a deeper “I’m glad you’re alive and it’s good to see you” meaning.
#2 The handshakes will be golden
Obviously we still need to practise good hygiene!
Bro, do you still remember your last handshake with someone?
A handshake is a form of non-verbal communication that speaks louder than words – I mean, we speak AT LEAST seven official handshake languages in Mzansi!
It solidifies relationships, forms connections and builds trust between people. Don’t you miss that?
#3 Words will have more meaning
The words like “I missed you so much” will be part of our national anthem.
They’d carry more meaning than before.
We tend to take such words as the ‘polite-thing-to-say’, and most of the time our mouths are disconnected from our hearts.
Before you rush on to the next point (seriously, it’s not a race, bro!) take a moment to think of someone you have really missed during this time…
What do you appreciate (and miss) most about him or her? Think about what you might say (the next time you see him or her in person) to sincerely express that.
#4 Relationships will be much better
No dude is going to ask for more ‘space’ for the rest of 2020.
Social distancing has made us crave for closeness, affection and attention. Don’t you believe that despite all these challenges 2020 might still be a great year?
#5 Fast Food wasn’t so bad afterall
Am I the only one who thinks that showing KFC, Nandos, Chicken Licken ads on TV is extreme torture?
Bro, you might be the best chef on the planet (hard to prove if your name is not Gordon or Jamie), but nothing beats a take-away meal once in a while.
I have some big plans for world domination when the ‘Big Lockdown of 2020’ is all over … but make no mistake, bro, it’s all going to start at the MacD drive-through window! ** evil laughter **
Remember, bro: “where attention goes, energy flows. Focus on all the great and glorious things that you’re looking forward to on the other side of lockdown, and you’ll be sure to emerge a (much!) better man.
Tomorrow we’ll be sharing… (erm, how to keep the love alive during lockdown??)
