How do you introduce yourself?

My name is Kgotso Gila and I am whirlwind of energy. But you’d have to spend time with me for a while to actually experience that side of me. I am an introvert that learned how to navigate through social spaces. I am a wild dreamer and I believe everyone deserves a shot at relentlessly pursuing what sets their heart on fire.

What do you think makes you a “better man”?

I am very well-rounded in my abilities and my overall character. The fact that I am an empath allows me to feel deeper and I am not ashamed or apologetic about that. I am well aware of my surroundings and I am always willing to stretch my hand wherever it’s needed.

How did you become a Style Consultant?

Lol, sheesh! From childhood, I have always been particular about the way I choose to present myself. And the fact that my mom gave me the freedom to wear whatever I want to wear, made it easy for me to know that this is what I want to do. Growing up, I’d bath, put on my best clothes and go sit in front of the TV. I have always loved looking good. So, it was inevitable.

What’s your winning formula?

I am a man of prayer and I strongly believe in the dynamic of the spoken word. Our words have the power to build or destroy, so I visualize and then speak my wins before they manifest. From my heart through my mouth to God’s ears and the entire universe has no choice but to also respond.

How does it feel to be GQ’s Best Dressed Reader 2019?

I feel great and so honoured to be recognized by such a powerful brand. This has been a life long dream of mine. I visualized and it manifested. Isn’t God just amazing!?

What’s next for you?

I have just completed a course in Sustainable Fashion with the London College of Fashion. I am busy pushing and knocking on doors to grow Gilah Sartorials, my image consultancy business.

What’s your grooming routine?

A good exfoliator with granules. A gentle face wash that doesn’t tighten the skin. A face moisturizer. Eye drops. A toner. A serum. And lastly, sunscreen(SPF 50 or more)

Grand, grand what do you think Manbox is? 

Don’t you guys give free grooming products to men and stuff? Lol! But I think at the core of everything that you do, lies the urgency to create awareness about the importance of taking care of ourselves as men. Which I find incredibly remarkable because there’s a lot of perceptions that need to be shifted around this sensitive subject. We need to have these honest conversations as men.
