Lorenzo Rufus create meaningful content for men in the lifestyle category. Besides sharing content on his blog ‘The Journal of Rufus‘, he is cracking numbers at his main hustle. Lorenzo’s biggest goal in relation with his blog is to have it grow into a publication touching on men’s lifestyle, showcasing unique views and life stories.
How do you introduce yourself?
I’m Lorenzo Rufus- Corporate dweller by day, Men’s Lifestyle Blogger by night (kinda cheesy, but it works all the time!).
Tell us about your blog ‘The Journal of Rufus’?
“The Journal of Rufus” is essentially a men’s lifestyle blog which is more of a personal journal. It incorporates multiple facets of a lifestyle blog including Fashion and Travel. I felt like there was niche of men’s lifestyle that was being overlooked from a content creation perspective and this was a motivator for me to start sharing my personal perspective.
Why the need to create content when you can ‘search’ anything on Google?
The creation of content relies heavily on one’s personal perception. Since perception is relative, we constantly should be creating content that speaks to our own perception. That’s one of the basics of story-telling and I hope that through my blog, I’m able to convey my personal views on various subjects.
What wakes you up every morning besides your alarm?
The opportunity to do and be better (another one of ‘those’ answers, but it honestly works).
What’s your winning formula?
As much as I can say passion, drive and determination is part of a winning formula, its extremely important to be honest with yourself. For me being able identify shortcomings within myself, it somehow creates an opportunity for growth.
What’s next for you?
From the perspective of the blog, for it to grow and develop into a collaborative portal. As much as my own stories are being shared, I’ve identified the need to collaborate with other story-tellers who share similar sentiments. The end goal would be for the blog to develop into my own publication.
What’s your routine to stay looking fresh?
Self-preservation (it sounds vain and pretentious, but it’s true). Oh and a vigorous skincare regimen!
What’s your number ONE grooming product?
Honestly… Serum! I’m sure that’s an unexpected product, but it’s seriously been such a game-changing product for my skin.
In your own words, what does it mean to be a ‘better man’?
For me, being a ‘better man’ is less about the end goal than it is about the steps you take in becoming one. How have I challenged myself to be better than I was? Am I happy with my current state of affairs? Why am I not progressing with certain things? Do my goals speak to each other? These are just a few questions I’d need to be able to answer to consider being ‘better’ than what I was.
