This Is How You Cut Yourself Some Slack

Being hard on yourself for things that you can’t possibly control is a super big waste of time. And if you think about it – you probably do it a lot.

What are the signs it’s time to cut yourself some slack and just accept the fact that not everything needs to be perfect? There are probably 99% chances that you’ve noticed these signs but chose to ignore them.

Perfection is a lie

It’s good to have goals and standards for yourself, but sometimes they can get a bit out of hand. When the idea of “perfection” is constantly looming overhead, it can become difficult to find ways to give yourself a break, especially when things don’t go according to your plan.

Even though we all strive for it, perfection is not something that anyone can ever achieve. That’s probably because the only place perfection exists is in the movies.

Being perfect isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. In fact, it’s actually tiring to constantly be on the “hakuna matata” mode.

Love yours

We live in a culture that forces us to measure our worth based on number of likes and followers we have on social media. What did J. Cole say about this? “No such a thing as life that’s better than yours”. No cap, contentment come from zero comparison.

That’s a fact bro. Cutting yourself some slack begins by having a positive dialogue with yourself and accepting your flaws.

Vulnerability is not weakness

Your feelings are legit bro, don’t let the streets confuse you. Being strong and strong has served us nothing but pain as men. It’s totally OK to seek for help – doing things solo is like fighting against what makes us human.

Bro, it’s important to cut yourself some slack. That means practicing self-compassion and the capacity to forgive oneself. It’s not about having a big crib and fancy wheels – cutting yourself some slack means being present in your life and trusting the process.

It’s was hard to accept my failures in my journey on this planet I still find it hard till this day cause of family expectations social expectations and not reaching every milestone they have for you I used to think that all will work out because I did my best to live up to others expectations I would feel defeated if I failed anyone even or myself it’s soul breaking when you fail but to meet failure after failure after failure made me doubt the reason for my existence it was dark times with no light in sight I felt duty bound to just do what ever it takes to make others happy with no room for failure or consideration for my own happiness even the relationship i was in I even forgot to treasure the moments just do all in my power to not fail her then I started to see some sign of light then she had a miscarriage which haunts me till this day but then someone told me that I stretched my self out so much that I don’t even have I don’t even have a piece for me to hold on to he said that I should learn from failure and even if I do everything in my power to make everyone happy I doesn’t mean it will work or keep them around those who value you don’t discard you when you can’t do anything for them they come to your rescue and let you know that it’s OK if you fall those who care will never abandon you and will have your back no matter what so these days i set goals with room for failure. I found my own quote to free me and whoever reads this I hope it works for those who take the time to read this and it goes like this ACCEPTANCE IS KEY !! accept your failures learn from them but don’t let failure consume you
The other quote I heard recently strengthed my resolve it goes like this
THIS TO SHALL PASS! if you down this too shall pass if you’ve been winning this too shall pass
So allowing room for failure allows you to get back up if doing your best and still failing

A wise man once old me that your hand fingers are proof enough that things are not same and will not be. To be in a right frame of mind and accepting that things aren’t smooth always. #TheGoodandBadDays . Have a positive mind on all situations can only bear good as one can learn from the bad situations.
