A lifestyle and grooming Blogger, that continues to find innovative ways of making life outside the laboratory as interesting as it is inside one. Trace Tshele as a Master of Sciences candidate, researching the structural biochemistry of HIV and it’s relevance to his country, he finds it hard to separate the science from everyday life. This makes simple things like drinking water on a day out a fascinating compound to ponder about. Tshele enjoys putting his thoughts and experiences in life on paper and share it with the rest of his world. He is a writer at heart and a storyteller by nature.
How do you introduce yourself?
I’m Tshele Trace Mokhantso, an outgoing scientist who’s always looking for an opportunity to make memories and share a laugh. Not to forget, I always have explosive jokes!
What do you think makes you a “better man”?
My willingness to constantly improve all aspects of my life by stepping out of my comfort zone to achieve true growth. This is driven by my thirst for knowledge and the daily pursuit of challenging myself.
How did you become a lifestyle and grooming blogger?
I’ve always found myself writing memos about my life experiences, poems and general thoughts which I felt might have an impact on people’s lives. I decided to share this with a broader community and I must say I am fully loving the response, especially from strangers.
What’s your winning formula?
Setting defined goals for myself and doing my best. Above all, I allow God to show up and do the rest, which in most times exceeds my own expectations.
Tell us more about your interest in biochemistry?
When I was a teenager, I assisted my aunt with education programs that informed the rural community about the preventative and treatments for diseases such as TB. These trips planted a seed which eventually sprouted into a full-blown interest for all things biochemistry including the opportunity to possibly combat diseases such as TB and HIV/AIDS. The thrill comes in knowing the building blocks and reaction of substances that seem complex to the human eye.
What’s next for you?
Image, Instagram
I aspire to be Dr. Tshele Trace Mokhantso (PhD Biochemistry) with my research having relevant input with regards to HIV in Africa. I would love to grow my brand outside the laboratory and collaborate with brands that believe in helping people to excel in all aspects of life.
What’s your grooming routine?
As cliché as it sounds, I believe in drinking a ton of water. Wake up, brush my teeth, wash my face then my hair while taking a lukewarm shower. I moisturize and apply my favourite cologne. I only exfoliate twice a week and treat myself to a weekly haircut and monthly spa day.
Grand, grand what do you think Manbox is?
I love how Manbox is making male grooming relevant as it has been neglected for so long. The platform is a great initiative for males who value self-care. From just reading reviews, someone like myself can easily base their decisions for purchasing products or get a different perspective of doing things.
