Why The Modern Man Is Lost?

Is the modern man entirely lost? Perhaps he is just confused and barely recognises his position in the world. Women are “taking up space” (deservingly so) while men are shrinking into insignificant beings. The change in the world is making most men so uncomfortable. Let’s face it, the era of Trump and #MeToo movement is too overwhelming for men.

The image of the modern man that is portrayed by the media is too perfect. Who is that sexy dude in the magazine cover? As men, we can hardly recognise him — none of us looks like that even in our good days. He is a present dad, great partner, brilliant in his job and everyone digs him. The non-stop pressure of being a man nowadays is unbearable!

Have you seen what are they selling men in the shops? The pants are cropped and super tight. Each product is advertised as the “one of a kind” item that will make men more attractive. Men’s voice is slowly dying in society — for a man to be heard he has to have what everyone wants.

Male Millennials face job insecurity and financial pressure. It is as if men aren’t allowed to protest or add their viewpoints. Even the social media streets aren’t kind enough to the issues concerning men. Perhaps we need a “new guy code” as the old one if fading out. As men, we need to have a collective voice — the days of us against them are over.

Is this an exaggerated perception? Bro, how are you navigating life in this new era?
