Questions You Should Be Asking Your Barber

The relationship with your barber is super important. Any hairstyle flop would ruin your entire month — imagine being forced to wear a cap every minute!  When you come across a skilled barber with a great “ear”, you’ll never be able to trust your hair with anyone else again. The experience of cutting hair should be closer (if not even better) to a therapy session.

If you’re new to the whole barbershop thing, you may need some guidance on how the whole system works. Here are some questions that you should be asking your barber.

What’s an upper-cut?

Every profession has its lingo —barbershops aren’t an exception. The images of happy customers with great haircuts might be deceiving. My guy, there’s a huge difference between a chiskop and a brush cut — so before you nod your head ask “is it a super clean cut or semi-clean with trimmings?”

Is the cutting machine clean and sterilised?

It’s super important to pay attention to the barber while cutting someone else. The communal machine needs to be disinfected all the time to avoid infections. This isn’t diva tendencies but serious prevention. Chiskop is cheaper and easy to maintain but it’s the most unsafe haircut, according to a recent study.

What’s that hair gel for?

Some of us have the courage to question medical doctors about their prescribed medicine. Bro, apply the same attitude to your barber as well. He should explain what’s the product is for, otherwise, it could be something not suitable for you.

I have always stressed about hygiene, that is why I always make sure that the clippers are cleaned and sterilized in front of me or else, I will not let anyone touch my head. Id rather be called names than to be unsafe.

Hygiene is one of the key factors to be considered when visiting a barber for a Hair Cut. Always make sure the machine is thoroughly sanitized and what he uses after shaving and also find out when were the machine blades sharpened.
