This Is What It Really Means To “Do You”

“Do you bro” I bet you get that all the time. The phrase can be annoying at times, especially when you’re craving for the great advice. It’s an open statement — the person saying it to you is somehow giving you the power to whatever situation you’re in. It’s a reminder that you’re the “starring” of your life.

What is it that you always wanted to do but there’s always another priority to do first? Let’s be real here, as long as you’re not putting yourself first — perhaps you should forget about it. Doing you is about giving yourself permission to hug life and be happy in your won terms. Of course, not everyone will approve or fully support your ‘weird’ vision. Do you want free advice? Do you, bro and the lesson will be yours to learn.

Letting go of what other people will think is a foundation of doing you. Being kind to yourself is another way of doing you. It’s taking a plunge and facing your fears. “Do you” doesn’t necessarily mean abandoning who you are or being selfish. My guy, don’t let them trick you.
