Son of Patricia premiered on the streaming service’s website on Tuesday. Early reviews are in and viewers have given the special a big thumbs-up.

The South African comedian shares lessons his mother Patricia Nombuyiselo taught him while he was growing up in apartheid South Africa.

“My mom is the most gangster person you’ll ever meet. Nothing got to her, nothing fazed her,” he said about the racism the family faced.

His mom is Xhosa while his father has Swiss German ancestry. Trevor understands both worlds and gives a unique perspective. The world has accepted Noah as the ‘global comic’ that experienced the difficulties of a third world and now in a position to shape the culture.
