Tattoos were probably cool three decades ago — I’m not so sure if they are in 2019. Who wants to have a crocodile permanently inked on their cheeks? Or even worse a barbed wire snaked around an upper arm. The attitude about tattoos now is like “we’re used to Mike Tyson’s tattooed face and David Beckham’s tattooed arms but no more!”
For the most part, having a tattoo is an enjoyable experience (I’m too scared of needles). It’s art you get to wear every single day — something that holds meaning, expresses your style, and becomes a permanent part of your body.
It might be a meaningful expression or impulsive YOLO moment. In some careers, tattoos are still perceived as unprofessional — even in the entertainment industry! It depends on how much weight your name carries, most brands who’d not want to be associated with snakes and zebra in your neck.
I suppose there’s a limit with everything else. As long it’s not depriving you of opportunities. At the end of the day, we need your wiredness — don’t ever hide it bro!
