No this is not a drill and no, it’s certainly not a prank. We are finally free from wearing masks!
Recently, our health minister Joe Phaahla quietly gazetted a notice that immediately removed any legal obligation to wear a face mask in South Africa.
This came in as a huge surprise for most South Africans because face masks have been a feature of South African life for more than TWO years. Then suddenly, they were gone.
We are certainly excited to not worry about wearing a mask at the gym or just to enter a mall or a restaurant (where we would actually have to remove the mask again to eat).
One thing is for sure, we will definitely miss wearing a mask as a cover-up when we don’t feel like being too social in public spaces😅
How are you feeling about this bro? What are your thoughts?
WANT TO GET CREATIVE WITH YOUR FACE MASK STASH?
Innovative suggestions for how to deal with masks you no longer need include:
- Clothing Patches
- Golfball and Dog-Eye Cleaning Wipes
- Hamster Hammocks, and Hammocks for Baby Bunnies.
We know that in reality, virtually all masks are most likely to end up in the dustbin and from there go to landfill sites, becoming part of the long-running problem of dealing with general waste.
There is, at least, ONE thing you can do to mitigate the potential harm that it may have on the environment: cut the rubber bands on both sides of a disposable mask before disposing of it.
That’s it from us, we are excited to see your full face bro!
So what are your thoughts gents? Let us know in the comments below if you are happy to be saying goodbye to face masks or not. We would like to see your thoughts😁

FINALLY!
YES
You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are near someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth. The virus spreads more easily indoors and in crowded settings.
I am that weird guy that still wears a mask just to not ger=t any airbone disease.
I still wear my mask just to protect myself from airborn diseases.
This may be an unpopular opinion but I still wear my mask in overcrowded spaces because I’m self-employed and cannot afford to miss work due to COVID infection. I definitely appreciate not being forced to have a mask on but I will still rock my mask 😷 every now and then! 😊
I’m still wearing my mask sometimes.
It is good to be freed from bondage but as for me and my mask we travel together, I still put on my mask on public because we are not Covid-19 free yet, it is still existing so I make sure that I am not a virus carrier from one point to the ather, i am my brother’s keeper and I am safe as well
